Emma grady - Chairperson

Hi guys, my name is Emma. I am in UEM4 and originally from Sligo. I am very interested in paediatric research especially focusing on the genetics of childhood leukaemia. Outside of medicine, I enjoy making a delicious lemon drizzle cake and running half marathons, so far I have successfully completed one ;) I am also a general coffee and tea addict, but Barry’s tea only!

 
 

Éoin Roche - Treasurer

Hi, I’m Eóin, from Athlone and I’m in UEM4. My research interests lie in hypoxia, immunometabolism, and oncology. Outside of medicine, I enjoy watching classic films on YouTube Shorts and deflecting personal questions

Edel Colgan - Design (VC)

Hey guys, it’s Edel! I’m currently in UEM3 and I’m originally from Carlow. I have a wide range of research interests, particularly cardiology and respiratory medicine. I’m excited to see all the submissions this year and what research excites other students!!  In my free time, I love activities like piano, hockey and reading. My favourite thing to do is spend time with my family and friends.

Hey guys, my name is Amy. I am in final med and am excited to be a part of the committee this year! I am from Dublin. My main research interests are in Neurology and Geriatrics. When I am not studying I enjoy watching films, travelling and sea swimming!

Katie Sheehy - Publishing officer

Hi everyone, it’s Katie ! I am in GEM1 and from Dublin. The field of research I am most excited about is cancer genomics. Outside of medicine, I love to sail and spend loads of time with my dog :)

Hey, I'm Ava, a 3rd year Med student from Dublin. I am excited to work on the SMJ this year with this amazing team of people. I'm especially interested in tissue reconstruction and neurology research. When I'm not at lectures, I enjoy playing music, reading and going to concerts.

Cianna Cregan - Design Officer

íanna from Drumcondra, Dublin. I’m currently in UEM3 and my primary research interest is in neurology. Outside of study, I enjoy playing camogie and swimming :)

Charlotte COdy - PRO

Hey everyone, I’m Charlotte and I am delighted to be a part of the SMJ this year. I am in GEM2 and my research interests lie in plastic and reconstructive surgery as well as tissue engineering. When I am not studying, I love going out for dinner and drinks, pilates, and traveling.

Sumitra Cheong - Events officer

Hi, my name is Sumitra and I’m in UEM3 ! I am originally from Malaysia and am very excited to be a part of the SMJ committee this year.  My interests within research centre around AI, surgery and sports science. Outside of medicine, I love to run and play the violin, as well as, enjoying plenty of matcha!
